Leroy Neiman - Olympic Pole Vaulting - Original Oil on Board - 1980
Leroy Neiman was the official Olympic painter for five separate Olympic Games. In 1980, he painted one of the U.S. pole vaulters in action on this 4 foot by 2 foot oil on board. The olympic games are popular worldwide are were one of Leroy Neiman's favorite themes when he painted. Olympic Pole Vaulting is a published piece and the serigraph had an edition of 300 prints. This Leroy Neiman oil was originally sold by Centaur Sculpture Galleries in 1980 and was kept in a private collection until this year. It not only has the certificate of authenticity from Centaur Sculpture Galleries but also the original Leroy Neiman certificate. It is in the original frame and is in mint condition. This is a spectacular oil on board with historical significance and would be the highlight of any Leroy Neiman collection.

"Though Neiman has long served as the most recognizable American artist of the post-war era, his recent passing has added rocket fuel to the fire of his market, with four of his works soaring into six-figure territory in recent Heritage auctions. We expect the climb in pricing to continue, and for smart investors to be paying close attention when this classic work hits the block."
