Erte created many world famous fashion designs. He painted gouaches in color to depict new styles that captured the world's imagination. Most of his gouaches show a female wearing one of his fashion designs. It is quite rare to find one of his gouaches fully painted and these are highly prized since Erte did not paint larger artwork.
