This is an extremely rare Leroy Neiman original. Considering that he was such a prolific artist, only a handful of his drawings were pastels. In addition, this pastel is huge and depicts two of the Rockettes, Terry and Mary. The Rockettes are a world famous precision dance company founded in 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri and since 1932 have performed out of Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan, New York City. Leroy Neiman painted this piece when the Rockettes performed in San Francisco. This beautiful pastel was originally in Leroy Neiman's estate and was sold by Franklin Bowles Galleries.
